Realizing that everyone doesn’t have time to consume endless content on club launch day, we’re offering a fresh version of our detailed tech write-up that focuses on the high points. Here’s what you need to know about TaylorMade’s Hi-Toe 4 ($179 per wedge) that’s available for pre-order through Fairway Jockey.

Now in its fourth iteration, TaylorMade’s Hi-Toe wedges have found success with golfers of all abilities, and with success comes the demand for more options — which is exactly what designers are delivering with its newest scoring tools.

Like previous generations, the signature Hi-Toe look remains the same: a full face groove configuration on a raised toe profile that instills confidence from address and performance on shots hit all over the face. Another feature sticking around is the distinctive copper finish which has become a mainstay in recent TaylorMade lines.

Technology and features

Spin Tread Raw: Just like with the popular MG4 wedges, Hi-Toe 4 features a raw spin tread that uses laser etching on the face to channel moisture away from the contact area. This provides extra friction in wet conditions and helps reduce spin variation on shots hit from longer grass.

“Hi-Toe wedges are a great option for any player who gains confidence from a wedge with a larger face and full-face grooves to ensure maximum spin regardless of where you strike it on the face,” said Matt Bovee, TaylorMade’s global category director, irons and wedges. “Now with Spin Tread Raw face technology and a new array of grinds, the Hi-Toe 4 has more performance and versatility than ever before.”

High muscle pad: Beyond the full face grooves, TaylorMade’s high toe mass pad pushes the club center of gravity higher on the face to help better control trajectory, lower launch angle and increase spin for distance consistency. More mass higher in the hitting area also helps retain more energy traditionally lost on toe strikes and open-faced shots.

Milled grind soles: To ensure the precise geometry of the five available sole grinds, Hi-Toe 4 wedges use TaylorMade’s milled grind technology to produce consistent bounce and grind specs from wedge to wedge.
